Salavation

A Sermon by Rev. James Harrison Nixon

We have all become lost in this world of sin and fell victims to the tongue of the serpent. We have been led down a path of deceit so far that many of us will never find our way out and still call the thorn patch holy. We cannot deny this for we have been told this by Christ Jesus! We as humans can become lost in seconds and gone in a blink of an eye from the grace of the Kingdom. We are not once saved always saved, just like one hamburger will not keep you full your whole life. Salvation is a constant struggle and progressive battle plan. This is why Paul wrote to us and said that we must place on the entire armor of God.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

(Ephesians 6:13 ESV)

Every day we must be prepared to place on this armor we must place it on to take on the world. To take on the struggles of everyday life. From the constant wear and tear of the emotions to the mental drains of work. Yet, we pray and we walk in the Gospel! Doing this we will smile more and speak more. We will see an increase in our own joy which we can share with others. While the whole time the enemy is trying to beat us. We have on the armor of God.

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

(Ephesians 6:18 ESV)

The perseverance through all of the struggles will be worth it because salvation comes to those who persevere. Christ tells us that those who stay in the faith will be the ones saved and the ones that persevere until his return will see heaven (Matthew 24:13). So stay in faith and remember temptation is also actions of the mind and not just physical. This is why salvation is an act of constant growth and not just one conscious act of doing.

Amen!
