Food is a very important part of life, so much so that Jesus even called his word the bread of life. So it makes perfect sense that ministers learn to cook. Sandwiches make a simple and cheap mass food item for outreach. Sandwiches are so great in fact Charles Spurgeon once said: “that if you wanted to hand out tracts first wrap them around a sandwich.”
I have decided to bring back my cooking preacher blog post. The first entry will be this grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese sandwich is very simple yet overlooked sandwich, that can be taken for granted for too often.
Ingredients needed: Butter, Italian Bread, American Yellow Cheese, Provolone Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Garlic, Dill Weed.
Butter one side of each bread and place your cheese in between. Sprinkle garlic on the outside of the bread and cover. Cook on each side for one minute on low-mid heat and until cheese is melted and bread is golden and firm.
*I used a blended Provolone and Mozzarella from Sargentas with this grilled cheese. Though you can use separate if you wish, it will just come out more cheesy and gooey.
